Faculty Bios

Greg Allers, Acoustic & Electric Guitar, bass

Greg Allers is a young, high energy, extremely polite and courteous young man who is highly effective getting and keeping kids, teens interested in music. With a two year degree from Saint Charles Community College he learned music theory, classical guitar and jazz. Greg has the experience on the front lines in the real world of rock, with his experience in bands and the rock industry. He plays guitar, bass and sings. Greg is a very easy going, knowledgeable and experienced teacher who loves to play guitar, teach and just enjoys being around music.

Mildred Borders - Piano

Mildred has been operating a private teaching studio since 1968, teaching as many as 60 students at times. She teaches all levels and ages from pre-school through senior adults. Mildred has a traditional approach to piano playing, with emphasis on note-reading and theory. She believes this provides a musical foundation from which students can pursue various types of music. Mildred is also a board member of the mid-America Music Association which holds a Music Festival each summer where many of her students participate.
Mildred especially likes to work with students who enjoy learning as much as she enjoys teaching.

Amanda DeBold - Piano

Amanda DeBold, a multi-instrumentalist plays piano, viola, and guitar. She has been teaching piano since 2006 and has an almost 0% drop out rate. She currently teaches a wide age group of student, from young children to adults. Amanda attends Maryville University with a major in nursing and a minor in music with an emphasis in music therapy. Her naturally sweet disposition goes a long way in helping her students relax and feel comfortable even in the middle of their first recital.

Eleni Goranitis - Piano

Eleni Goranitis is attending University of Missouri- St. Louis, and studying Biochemistry. She has played piano since she was 8 years old, and took lessons for 10 years. Eleni has been teaching at Lacefield since 2008. Her students are mainly beginner to intermediate level. She is very patient and enjoys helping students expand their musical talents. Whether performing in recitals, being encouraged to create their own music, or learning their favorite songs, Eleni’s students have fun in their lesson while still learning about music.

Michael Hanf - Strings

Michael Hanf teaches violin, viola, beginning cello and beginning bass. During the school year, he is the orchestra director for Hazelwood East High and Middle Schools. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education as well as a master’s in Violin Performance. He has been teaching since 2001 and recently joined the Lacefield staff in 2011.

Adrianna Heimann - Violin/Viola

Adrianna Heimann is a senior at Lindenwood University. She is pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education and Violin Performance which she will complete in May of 2011. Prior to attending Lindenwood University she was a member of the Saint Charles County Youth Orchestra for four years. She currently performs in the Lindenwood University String Ensemble, Lindenwood Quartet, and is concertmistress of the Lindenwood Symphonic Orchestra. Outside of her academic work, she actively leads and participates in organizations here on campus including president of the Collegiate Music Educators National Conference (CMENC) and is a member of the Kappa Nu Chapter of the Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity for women. She is also a member of the national honor society Alpha Chi. Outside of university performing Adrianna performs with the St. Louis Philharmonic Orchestra. She has studied under Susie Thierbach, Robin Williams, and Ann Hirschl.

Neil Herman, Acoustic & Electric Guitar

Neil Herman is pleased to be working for Lacefield Music as a Guitar Teacher. Previously, he taught privately and at several different music stores in the St. Louis area. Neil has the patience to demonstrate the techniques and disciplines required to master the guitar. He enjoys teaching and performing several different genres of music; chief among them Blues, Rock, and Country. While working in Nashville Tennessee, he had the pleasure of performing with some of the best musicians in the world. While in Nashville, one of Neil’s personal philosophies became true; the teacher truly became the student. Mr. Herman lives in St. Peters, MO with his cat, the aptly named Big Cat.

Gayle Kramer - Piano & Band Instuments

Extremely gifted teacher, and excellent with any age group.Education/Certifications I attended Milliken University in Decatur, IL and Fontbonne University where I attained a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 1987. Secondly, I attended the University of Missouri St. Louis (UMSL) where I attained dual Certification in Instrumental Music and Vocal Music in 2003. Currently, I am working in my Masters in Arts at Missouri Baptist.
Years in Education I began teaching piano privately in 1987 and began actual classroom teaching during the years 2005-2009.

Gayle is very good with children with short attention spans, pulling from her experience as a public elementary school music teacher.

Elizabeth Lyons - Piano

Elizabeth has taken piano since she was 5 years old. She also plays the violin and sang in the Saint Louis Children's choirs. She has had the unique opportunity of performing at the Sydney Opera House. Elizabeth loves musicals, traveling and neon orange! She is currently going to school to become a music therapist.

Ruth Rieger - Piano & Flute

Ruth Rieger has a bachelor's degree in Music Therapy and has been teaching piano and beginner flute for 25 years. She encourages recitals for her studio as well as Lacefield recitals. She has had many years experience accompaning for choirs, soloists and instrumentalists as well as playing for musicals. Her goal is to instill a love of music that will last a lifetime.

Lisa Steel - Piano & Viola

Lisa Steel studied music performance at Depaul University in Chicago, Ill. She recently relocated from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Lisa has been a private lesson instructor for over 20 years, teaching piano, organ, viola, and voice. She is currently the music director at Christ the King Catholic Church and School in Unversity City where she directs three adult and children's choirs. She has been a member of the Kenosha, Racine, and Milwaukee's Festival City Symphonys, violist and pianist for the Classical String Quartet, and is currently a member of the St. Louis Philharmonic. Lisa enjoys sharing her love of music with children and adults alike.

Kelly Stinnett - Piano & Voice

Kelly Stinnett received her Bachelor of Music from Western Illinois University in 2006. Since then, she has been teaching voice & piano lessons to students ages 3-70 in a fun & encouraging atmosphere! Kelly is a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs and her students have the opportunity to perform in many events throughout the year. In June of 2010, Kelly took over managing Lacefield Music School.

Anita Tissi - Piano & Voice

Anita has a master’s degree in vocal performance from Webster University and has been teaching for 21 years. She is a Certified McClosky Voice Technician. She has been a church soloist for 34 years, and has given several concerts in St. Louis in many different styles, including opera, musical theater,foreign language, folk, contemporary gospel, and standards. Her current passion is jazz.
